SNOW!

Dear children,

During this season of winter, there is snowing which occurs in some countries like Europe and America. This is because these countries experience the 4 seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. There is no snow in Singapore because Singapore does not have 4 seasons. It has a hot weather almost the whole year, except in December, in which there will be lots of rain.

Here are some fun websites in which you can make snow flakes, learn about how snow comes about, stories about snow and many other fun activities:

Below is a video in which you can see how snow can bring about accidents on the road. This is because snow makes the road slippery and will cause the drivers to lose control of their cars easily.

Here is a cartoon on snow for all of you to enjoy. Happy holidays!

If you want to experience snow in Singapore, probably you can ask your parents to bring you to Snow City in Jurong East. You can have a feel of how snow is like over there and play with the snow.

Sand Painting

Dear children,

Have any of you seen sand painting before? Sand painting is a form of art in which you can pour sand onto a surface to make a painting. The sand can come in different colours too.

In this video shown below, you can see the person using her fingers to create different types of pictures just by moving the sand around. Have fun watching it!
