Walking through the jungle

Dear children,

I have put up a youtube video on 'The Lion King'. Some of the animals featured in this video are the animals that we have learnt from our big book 'Walking through the jungle' like the lion and monkey. Action words (verbs) like wading and leaping are also shown in this video.

Video clip on bats

Dear children,

In the STAR EL lessons last week, we learned about the pronounciation of the word "bat" in the book 'The Fat Cat'. In this book, we learned how to pronounce the 'a' sound (which sounds like the word 'air').

Some of you may not know what bats are and may not have seen them before. I have put up a Youtube link on bats here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sisyq6N7mMw. I am unable to place the video directly into the class blog as there are some problems.

Do watch the video!

Here are some websites in which you can learn more about bats:

http://www.kidzone.ws/animals/bats/index.htm

You can also ask your parents to help you in making a bat mask! The instructions are given in this website: http://www.sandiegozoo.org/kids/craft_batmask.html
